Today I will write about books)
I've been interested in fashion for a long time and I bought my first book when I was about 15.
Since then I've collected rather a lot of fashion books. Most of them are not very popular and only in English, but I'm sure that for a real 'it'-girl it won't be a problem;)
So here's my top list of books about fashion and style
1. Bazaar Greatest Hits
This book was published to celebrate the 10 years anniversary editor Glenda Bailey at US Harpers Bazaar. The book chronicles some of the magazine's most memorable moments from 2001 to 2011. The Greatest Hits contains more than 300 amazing photos of the best models and celebrities, as well as the most stunning magazine covers. So this is a really great inspirational book!
“Fashion reflects what’s going on in our world, and Bazaar makes pop culture fashionable” (Glenda Bailey)
2. История Моды с 18 по 20 век by Taschen
This book consists of 2 volumes and shows the whole history of fashion from the 18th to 20th centuries. Presented by the Kyoto Institute of Costume, the issue contains unique garments and accessories. Some of the costumes are detailed so you can see the technique used to create garments with more than 100 years history!
The articles are rather vivid and informative. So after reading this book you may be sure u'll know everything about fashion
3. Fashion Design Course by Steven Faerm
A widely-recognized fashion design teacher from the famous Parsons School presents in this book a step-by-step tutorial, different tasks, offering aspiring designers advice on how to prepare for a successful career as a fashion designer. In this book he talks about the basics, fashion history, inspiration, principles of designs. All the articles are supported by great pictures. But this book will not only be interesting for future fashion designers, but also for those who want to see the fashion industry from the inside, who is interested in how the collections and trends appear, how many collections designers usually make, also there're also interviews with the real 'guru' of fashion.
4. Fierce Style: How to Be Your Most Fabulous Self by Christian Siriano
Christian Siriano is a young and extremely talented fashion designer(I'm a great fan of his!),who became the youngest winner of the American show 'Project Runway'
This book is full of inspiration and some useful tips, presented in a really funny way!
The book is divided in mini sections under some hilarious titles, teaching what to do and not to do in order to be fierce.
Also Christian denotes some of his biographical facts,so it's interesting to know how he became so successful. The book also contains some of the very useful tips from celebrities such as Victoria Beckham and Heidi Klum. The book will the very helpful for those who are still searching for their personal style and want to avoid some fashion mistakes.
But be ready..the word "fierce" is repeated A LOT!
So don't be afraid:)
